Increasing temperatures and reduced rainfall as a result of climate change are drying up rivers in the northern district of Kurigram. Land is becoming increasingly uncultivable due to this rise in aridity. Other local farmers in the area are also leaning towards livestock rearing as an alternative livelihood strategy.
