Sea level rise has led to an increase in soil and water salinity in the southwestern coastal districts of Bangladesh. Large scale shrimp farming and improper use of sluice gates have further exacerbated the situation. But farmers like Md. Nurunnabi is determined to continue growing vegetables for their livelihood. He received training on sack gardening from a local NGO and is successfully growing vegetables using this method. This has led to an increase in his income as well.
