The GCA organized the first ever Local Adaptation Champions Awards in 2022 to put a spotlight on and recognize locally led efforts to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change. The awards were given in four categories: financial governance, inclusive leadership, capacity and knowledge, and local innovation. The winners have been announced through a high-level awards ceremony at COP27.
